Capacity: The Micro Oil Skimmer has been tested using 1,000 litre to 4,000 litre positive displacement pumps, and because of their steady
intake of liquid are ideal for use with floating weir skimmers.
The Micro Oil Skimmer tested well using single and double diaphragm pumps with capacities of up to 6,000 litre's per hour
Note: Single diaphragm pumps tend to destablise the skimmer around, this in turn disturbs the surface of the water and makes skimming less effective.
At the bottom end of the spectrum, the Micro Oil Skimmer has no trouble working using only a small aquarium pump or by using gravity by siphoning in which case no pump is needed at all.
The Micro Oil Skimmer MK/2 has given good performance on floating materials ranging from sawdust, cement scum, floating vegetable materials, oils ranging in viscosity from aviation gas through motor oil and gear oil, it has been utilized in the pre treatment of kitchen wash water from commercial situations such as fast food restaurants where oils need to be removed from the water prior to disposal.
